Site and Track Description

The site being developed is approximately 400 acres of rolling farm land bordered by I-90 to the south, Highway 60 to the east, a county road to the west, and the Worthington Municipal Airport (WMA) to the north. It is important to note that the WMA (OGT on aeronautical charts) is a modern facility with a VOR and an ILS on site. The airport accommodates jet aircraft as well as general aviation craft with the longest runway 5500 feet. It will be possible to fly to Worthington, taxi and park your airplane within a short distance of VMSP.

The full course will be two and a half to three and a half miles of continuous asphalt. This course can be divided into two courses to accommodate two events, such as auto cross or driver’s education. For those of you who need high speed for excitement, you may rent the entire course. Fifteen corners of various radiuses and difficulty, straights for speed and a forty-foot wide track conforming to the variations in topography should make for an interesting ride. VMSP will conform to the SCCA specification in all respects including paddock areas, pit areas, pit lanes (3), run off areas, grid and pre-grid areas. A building for class rooms and club meetings is also planned. Storage rentals for those patrons who wish to leave their cars here will be built as needed.
